We Love: Tina Fey

Tina Fey is no ordinary multitasker. Screenwriter, actress, producer, multiple Emmy Award winner, one can catch a glimpse of Fey’s hectic career in the seemingly autobiographical American Express television ad in which she is currently featured. But why we love Tina Fey isn’t only because she wears many hats (and ably so)—it’s because of the barriers she’s broken down for women in comedy. The first female head writer on the institution Saturday Night Live, Fey was also one of the earliest cast members to take maternity leave from the show after the birth of her daughter in 2005. In her quasi-autobiographical sitcom 30 Rock, her character Liz Lemon is one of the most real and accessible women on portrayed on television since Mary Richards worked at WJM-TV. Oh, and yeah, we also love Tina Fey because she is hilariously funny.
